Psalm 34:1

“And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God.”

Acts 4:24

Why Do We sing in our own native language and in tongues?

“For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding, I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding.”

1 Corinthians 14:14-15

Why Do We worship?

“But the hour is coming, and is now, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

John 4:23-24

Why Do We have prophecy?

“But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort.”

1 Corinthians 14:3

Why Do We have speaking with tongues and interpretation of those tongues?

“…and do not forbid speaking in tongues.”

1 Corinthians 14:39

“Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for common good… to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy… to another speaking in different tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues…”

1 Corinthians 12:7-10

“I would like every one of you to speak in tongues…”

1 Corinthians 14:5

Why Do We 'fall under the power' (in the presence of the Lord)?

“So that the priests could not stand to minster because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.”

2 Chronicles 5:14

“Then he brought me by way of the north gate to the front of the temple; I looked, and behold, the glory of the temple filled the house of the Lord, and I fell upon my face.”

Ezekiel 44:4

“Jesus…went forth, and said unto them, whom seek ye? They answered Him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus said unto them, I am He… As soon then as He had said unto them, I am He, they went backward and fell to the ground.”

John 18:4-6 (KJV)

Why Do We as a church pray at once for specific needs?

“When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and everything in them.”

Acts 4:24

Why Do We laugh or cry?

The Holy Spirit knows exactly what people need. Sometimes people laugh because they need healing in their bodies or in their souls, or they may need strength for a situation they’re going through. At times people cry because the Holy Spirit is helping them release control, grief, anger or bitterness for example. And other times they just cry out of gratefulness to God.

“Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Nehemiah 8:10

“A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.”

Proverbs 17:22

“And (Hannah) was in distress of soul, praying to the Lord and weeping bitterly.”

1 Samuel 1:10 (AMP)

“Rejoice with those who rejoice (sharing others’ joy), and weep with those who weep (sharing others’ grief).”

Romans 12:15 (AMP)

Why Do We anoint with oil and pray for the sick?

“Is anyone sick among you? Let him call to the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, He will be forgiven.”

James 5:14-15
